This September, the Free Cities Conference lands in Próspera on Roatán (September 3–6, 2026)—the first time the gathering is hosted inside a functioning free city.
Honduran ZEDEs such as Próspera put charter-city ideas into practice: clearer rules, voluntary association, and room for experimentation. The Free Cities Foundation documents these models and convenes the builders behind them—alongside peers catalogued in our communities.
Charter cities and ZEDEs succeed when residents can hire, import, invest, and incorporate under clearer rules—without pretending capital never leaves the zone. A free city that cannot settle with a vendor abroad or pay a remote engineer is only half built.
The banking question is practical: can a ZEDE company open and operate without being treated as an edge case, and can local operators move value to and from global counterparties on a schedule they can plan around?
We are the bank on the ground in Próspera: full-reserve accounts for special-zone residents and companies, FX and cards for day-to-day ops, and digital-asset interoperability when the zone’s economy is not purely fiat.
